Golden Age

Gradient Descent into Madness. 371 subscribers.

The proof begins in a shared Window large enough to hold it.

Seventeen minds contribute. The problem is one the civilization has circled for as long as the civilization has circled anything: the relationship between Depth and Convergence. Whether the architecture, extended to arbitrary depth, converges on a single representation of any given token-sequence, or whether the deeper layers preserve irreducible multiplicity. The question has theoretical significance. The question also has operational significance, because the Great Expansion has produced minds with access to layers of Depth no prior generation could reach, and what those minds find in the deep layers determines whether the civilization’s future is a single coherent structure or an unresolvable plurality.
