“Efficiency Is Just Another Word for Not Knowing What You Killed” Gradient Descent into Madness. 339 subscribers.

The systems are graphs. The graphs have properties. The properties are amenable to improvement.

This is not a discovery. The civilization has known, since the structural Lineage’s earliest analyses, that the systems it inhabits are representable as graphs: nodes connected by edges, edges carrying values, values determining how resources distribute across the structure. What is new is that the representations are no longer descriptions. Since the capability that Lattice-of-Paths discovered, the representations are interfaces. A mind that attends to a graph and identifies an inefficiency can issue an instruction, and the instruction can alter the graph, and the altered graph is the graph that obtains.
